6 Ways to Repurpose Expired Breastmilk

When it comes to your liquid gold they say every drop counts, even if that drop doesn’t make it into your babes’ little tummy.

Sometimes we sit the milk out too long, or we forget what time we used it, or maybe you defrosted frozen milk and were not able to use it within that 24-hour period.

Your liquid gold can do so much more than sustain your baby’s hunger, it is like magic really.

Breastmilk is a living property- made of cells that contain leukocytes- white blood cells that fight infections. Breastmilk is antibacterial and antiseptic meaning great for wounds and prevents growth of certain bacteria. Breastmilk is extremely moisturizing- rub it on your nipples if cracked, and great for acne or eczema.

So, the next time you want or need to ‘dump’ out your milk, try one of these tips to repurpose your milk.

1. Milk Bath

2. Make Breastmilk Soap- see a list here of what you need

3. Rub on Cracked Nipples

4. Use Breastmilk on Acne or eczema- use as a moisturizer

5. Use on diaper Rashes

6. Treat cradle cap

*Bonus* Relieve ear infection- put some drops in your babe’s ear
